HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Hiya!!! Well, I know it's been a while, but I'm back. Hope everyone had a wonderful, stupendous, glorious holiday season. Mine was great---good times spent with family and loved ones; beautiful, magickical, useful gifts, both given and received. It was a beautiful Winter Solstice and Yule.

Back to the present... I've registered to take a few more business classes at the local community college. The Small Business Center has free classes for entrepreneurs and developing businesses. I know that my business is over a year old, but there's always something new to learn. I'll be taking Goal Setting, Effective Business Plans, and About Home Businesses over the next few months. I'll probably re-take the Social Media series of classes again in April (I've already taken it twice and learned new things both times). The way that the internet changes from day to day, I'll always need this set of classes to keep up.

I did some quilting for holiday gifts---Microwave Tater Bags. It was my first real venture into quilting, and even though it was only straight line cross hatching, I felt wonderful about it. It was good to be back on the sewing machine. Now I'm ready to try some place mats and try something more involved in the quilting area. I'm starting out small, and gonna work my way up to larger projects.

The DDs and families are doing well, after a bout of stomach bugs in the eldest family. My younger SIL is starting his new job, with a county sheriff office. It's what he's been looking for for the past two and a half years, so I'm glad he finally got it, even though we'll worry more about him while he's on the job. Younger DD just turned 26!!! I can't believe that it's been that long ago, that I was in the hospital, walking the halls, waiting on 'him' to make an appearance. I was so sure that it would be a boy. :) I wouldn't trade her for a dozen boys now. My girls are so precious to me!!!

Well, I'm off to bed after checking my glucose levels and blood pressure and heart rate, and taking my pills and insulin. Got a busy day tomorrow---seeing my therapist, some shopping to do, may go see #1 DD, and supper later with Dean. May get some new jewelry items priced and ready for inventory. And it's quarterly tax time, so I've got plenty to keep me going.

Have a wonderful evening, and a beautiful week. Blessed be, hugs!!!

It's the weekend!!!

Hiya!!!

This is my baby, Sassy. She's 17 years old!!!  She still gets around pretty well. Her back legs are getting tired, and they slide around quite a bit. She has a heart murmur, and hypothyroidism, so she takes meds for both of those conditions. We've had her since she was about 10 weeks old, so she's definitely a member of the family. Had to take her to the vet today. She's had a problem with dermatitis for about a year now. Antibiotics help some, so she got two shots today. They clipped the hair around the sore spots too, so she looks a little patchy right now. But that's ok, as long as she gets better.

I also have another baby, Misty. She's my little rescue. A lady who runs a boarding and grooming business told about her on FaceBook. Seems that she had wandered onto this farm a while back, and the man who lived there finally got tired of having her around. He said that if someone didn't take her, he was gonna shot her. I couldn't let that happen, so she became mine. She's so sweet, and just wants a lot of love.

After I got her, I took her to the vet's the very next day. That's when I found out that she has heartworms. I can't afford the main treatment that the vets recommend, so we have her on HeartGuard. That will kill off all of the babies, and keep them from multiplying. We'll keep checking her for the heartworms, and hopefully the adults will die off. The vet said that her heart sounded good and strong, so I just hope for the best for her.

I was a little under the weather on Thursday. My sugar and blood pressure was good, but my heart rate was racing. It does this from time to time since I got my pacemaker last year, but the technician says that the pacemaker is doing fine. When my heart races, I can feel it---in my ears and chest, and it makes me nauseous. I felt so bad that I missed my social media class that night. On Friday, I slept most of the day. It's like my body needs a rest day every once in a while, and I sleep for a day. I feel better today though, so I just go with what my body needs.

I did go up to DS's on Thursday, and got some sewing projects started. Gotta get them finished, cuz they're Christmas presents, so I can't say too much about them yet.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, and is getting ready for Christmas, only 10 days away!!! Good thoughts to all, blessed be, hugs!!!

Busy Weeks

Hiya!!!

Well, we made it to Friday again. I had a full week, for me that is. Something to do everyday this week.

Monday, it was to print and submit my business plan for Pam's Pretties 57, the business. I took a box of new fabric up to my sister's where we ohhed and ahhed over the pieces. She printed off the plan for me (I've been out of printer ink for months), and I got it submitted to the competition. Haven't heard anything about it yet. Then Tuesday and Thursday had evening Social Media classes through the local community college. This is a set of four classes, the rest will be next Tuesday and Thursday nights. We had really good classes---only four people on Tuesday and five on Thursday. You get a lot more attention to questions when there's only a few students in class. Wednesday night was standard supper out with Dean. We went to Sagebrush Steakhouse, yummy, sweet potato fries :). Then this afternoon I went to my daughter's---my grandson helped me with a Christmas present. Can't tell about it yet, DD might just actually read this. lol Then I had a dental appointment for a cleaning. Not the best way to spend an hour, but at least I don't have a fear of the dentist like many people I know.

I'm trying to set up a website for my pretties. I have a shop on Etsy, but feel that a website would help to spread the word about my shop.

Got a really busy week scheduled for next week too. On Monday, I have an appointment for blood work at my doctor's office at 9:00 am, then an appointment with another doctor at 2:00 pm, then a taxes class from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. A full day for me!!! Then the Social Media classes Tuesday and Thursday. Supper with Dean on Wednesday. And Friday is clear. YAY!!! Maybe I'll get some sewing done. I need to go up to my sister's one day to cut out some Christmas gifts from the fabric I took up there.

Well, that's about it for today. I'm off to bed, hopefully to sleep tonight. Take care all. Blessed be, hugs!!!

It's a start!!!

HIYA!!!
Well, I guess I've taken the first step. I've created a blog!!! Now to the big QUESTIONS???
          What's it gonna be about???
          Who will read it???
          WHAT WAS I THINKING?????????

I read blogs all the time---quilting blogs, sewing blogs, craft blogs, even a cooking blog (anyone who knows me is rolling in the aisle now---I DON'T COOK). But what is mine gonna be about??? I suppose it will be about my life, such as it is, what I do, and what I love. That would be my family, my dogs (shhh, I'm only supposed to have one), creating all kinds of things, and my business. I have an Etsy shop---called Pam's Pretties 57, of course---where I sell my handcrafted jewelry, crochet items, and hope to soon add sewn and quilted items.

If anyone happens to read this, please leave me a comment, I'd love to make some new friends. Thank you, blessed be, hugs!!!
